What is Thai Yoga Massage?
Traditional Thai Yoga Massage (called nuad phaen boran) is an ancient
form of therapeutic healing founded in India by a doctor and contemporary
of the Buddha. Ayurvedic physicians and Buddhist monks brought these
teachings to Thailand over 2000 years ago. Thai Yoga Massage is
offered from a meditative state, and from the principles of compassion
and loving kindness. In addition to her hands, the therapist may
use her feet, forearms, knees, and/or elbows to work the energy
lines (called sen lines) of the body to release tension and blockages.
In addition to the amazing physical benefits of this practice, the
rhythmic manipulations of Thai Yoga Massage soothe the client toward
deep meditation.
Thai Yoga Massage is done on a comfortable floor mat in our peaceful
bodywork room. The client wears loose or stretchy clothing so they
can receive assisted stretches. No oils are required. The traditional
form of Thai Yoga Massage lasts 90 to 120 minutes, providing for
a deeper and more comprehensive experience than a standard one-hour
massage. Mountain Yoga is excited to offer this unique form of ancient
healing to our community. We know you will enjoy your first session
with either Debbie or Vika.
